How to Make Deep Fried Pickles

Deep fried pickles make everyday meals more delicious and nutritious and you can easily make them at home by using few basic ingredients.

Utensils: Mixing bowls, deep pan, cutting board, sharp knife, spoons, fork, whisk and spatula.

Dill pickle spears (chilled): 24
Milk: 2 cups
Eggs: 2
Pinch lemon pepper: 1 dash
Pinch dill weed: 2 pieces
Pickle juice: to taste
Cups cornmeal: 2 ½ cups
Cups all-purpose flour: 1 ½ cups
Lemon pepper: ½ cup
Dill weed: 1/2 cup
Paprika: 4 teaspoons
Garlic salt: 2 teaspoons
Pinch cayenne pepper: to taste
Buttermilk: 1/2 cup
Sour cream: 1/2 cup
Minced parsley leaves: 3 tablespoons
Chopped green onion: 2 tablespoons
Apple cider vinegar: 1 1/2 tablespoons
Freshly ground pepper: 2 teaspoons
Dijon mustard: 1 teaspoon
Garlic clove, minced: 1/2
Mayonnaise: to taste

    First of all, you have to make an egg wash. Take a large bowl and whisk milk and egg in it by using a fork. You have to whisk for around half a minute. Then, place the bowl aside for a while. Please note that you can use whole milk, buttermilk, rice milk, low-fat or non-fat milk.

    Now add flour along with garlic salt or garlic powder and salt-free seasoning. Mix all the ingredients well with each other and add a dash of salt and pepper. You can use any kind of flour including rice flour, whole-wheat or all-purpose flour for making the dish.

    Now, you have to remove the pickle slices from jar. After draining the pickle juice off, use a paper towel to dry it as much as possible.

    After that, coat all the pickle slices with the egg wash you prepared in the first step and then put them in the flour mixture you made in step two.

    Take a cookie sheet and place all the battered pickle slices on it; place them in the freezer for around half an hour. It is extremely important for you to freeze the pickle slices. Otherwise, you will not be able to fry it properly.

    Meanwhile, fill the Dutch oven with oil and heat it to around 375 degrees Fahrenheit from medium to medium-high heat. Then, drop the frozen pickle slices one by one in the oven and stir them after a while. When they become brown, take them out and serve them with any sauce.
