Dissolve soap flakes in water
Grab a large pot in which you can mix all the ingredients. Put some soap flakes in the pot and pour a gallon of warm water. Make sure that the water is neither too hot nor too cold. Now place the pot on a stove and set it to low heat. In order to make sure that the soap flakes are nicely dissolved in the water, you need to stir the mix while it is heated.
Add glycerine and lemon juice
Now you need to add some glycerine to the mixture and stir is gently before taking it off the stove. You may now leave the mixture as it is for a couple of hours so that it can cool down. Once you feel that the mixture has settled, you can add half a cup of lemon juice in it. If lemon juice is not available, you can go for the same quantity of white vinegar.
Add an essential oil
There are a number of essential oils available in grocery shops. Choose an essential oil of your choice and add about 3 to 5 drops in the concoction. This will add a nice smell to the soap. Now pour the mixture in a bottle or a jar and shake it well.
Use an old soap
Another way of making a dishwashing soap is to grab an old bar of soap and shave it into flakes using a razor. Let these pieces fall into a bowl or a bucket. Now you need to add approximately two and a half cups of hot water over the soap pieces. Let the pieces to soak for about three hours or until the soap pieces have softened.
You should now stir the mixture to make sure that the soap pieces have been dissolved properly. Put the combination in a bottle and shake it nicely before using it.
