How to Make Easy Nachos

Nacho is a very special dish loved by people of different age groups all around the world. Contrary to popular belief it is not something which is extensively difficult to make. With a little innovation and few basic ingredients, just about anybody can make good quality nacho chips.

In this article, we will go through one of the simplest recipe to make nachos.

01 cup corn-flour
01 cup lukewarm water
A bit of salt for seasoning the dough
01 cup cooking oil

    The first step is to make the dough. The water quantity mentioned in the ingredients is just enough to get the dough nice and round. Take a large bowl (plastic or glass) and put the corn-flour in it. Add some water to the dough. Now add some salt for seasoning.

    Start kneading the dough. You will see that the flour will gradually start coming together. Now add some more water (the rule of thumb is that only one table spoon of water should be added at a time), otherwise you risk a chance of making the dough too mucky.

    Now take 2 thin plastic sheets, approximately half metre in size. Take the dough (in ball shape) and put it on one of the plastic sheet. Now press the dough, flattening it out slightly, while ensuring that it does not crumble completely. The edges will off course crumble slightly but that comes with corn-flour.

    Place the other sheet on top of the dough and flatten the dough further using your hands. Now take a rolling pin and roll the dough smoothly. Do it till you achieve about 1 cm of thickness.

    The next step is to make the triangles. A nacho cutter is the preferable option, but if you don’t have that, you can use any chip cutter available. Press the cutter with the sheets intact. Carve out the pieces, re-roll to make the dough, cut the nachos again and keep on doing this process till nothing is left.

    Using a fork make small holes on nacho surface and then put them in a frying pan filled with hot cooking oil. Fry them till they turn golden.
