Preheat the oven
Don’t forget to preheat the oven, while you prepare the bread with other ingredients. In case of French toast, you have to keep the heat at 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Melt margarine into baking tray
Before going onto the main recipe, you have to coat the baking tray with margarine. Make sure that it is spread properly, covering the entire base of the tray. However, this step is optional and you can go to your recipe straight away. It doesn’t take much of your time though, so there is no harm in doing this.
Spread sugar and cinnamon on tray
Once the margarine has been spread nicely, you have to sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon on the baking tray. Once again, this step is optional and you should only follow it, if you have gone through the previous step.
Beat eggs in a bowl
Beat the eggs in a medium sized bowl. Once you get a yellowish texture, start adding the remaining ingredients.
Mix salt, sugar, milk and orange juice
One by one, mix all the other ingredients in the bowl and continue stirring, so that everything settles in nicely. You can skip the milk and juice if you like, but they are preferred in order to enhance the taste.
Dip all bread slices into the mixture
From each side, dip the bread slices in the mixture you have prepared and place the bread in the baking tray.
Bake for 15 minutes
Finally, bake the bread slices for 15 minutes and you will get your delicious French toast.
