How to Make Homemade Veggie Burgers

Homemade veggie burger is a perfect blend of corn, mushrooms, garlic, potato, tofu and bread crumbs. It makes a very nutritious and delicious diet for breakfast and lunch.

Yield: 3 burgers
Utensils: Mixing bowls, deep pan, cutting board, sharp knife, spoons, fork, whisk and spatula.

Olive oil: 3 tbsp
Corn kernels: 1/2 cup
Mushrooms, diced: 7
Scallions (green onions) diced: 3
Red bell pepper, diced: 1/2
Cloves garlic, minced: 2
Cumin: 1 tsp
Carrot, grated: 1
Small potato, grated: 1
Silken (soft) tofu: 1/4 cup
Salt and pepper: to taste
Bread crumbs: 1/2 cup

    First of all, you have to process tofu. Take the blender or a food processor and put all the tofu in it. Blend it well until it becomes creamy. Then, place it aside.

    Meanwhile, take the corn and sauté it along with the mushrooms, scallions and bell pepper after pouring one tablespoons in the frying pan for around three to five minutes. After that, you have to add cumin and garlic in the pan. Cook all the ingredients for around one more minutes.

    Then, remove the pan from the stove and place it aside. Take carrot, potato and tofu and add them in the pan. Now, add salt and pepper and mix all the ingredients well with each other with the help of spatula.

    After that, add the bread crumbs and keep stirring the mixture until it becomes firm. You will need around half a cup of bread crumbs to make the mixture firm.

    Now make patties of all the mixture and put the pieces in the refrigerator for around an hour. Make sure that the patties are separated from each other, otherwise they will stick together and you may have to shape them again afterwards.

    Take out the patties and cook them in the frying pan after pouring around two tablespoons of olive oil. You will have to cook the patties for around three minutes.

    Take the buns and place the patties on them. Add your favourite toppings before serving and enjoy the meal.
