Madeleine cookies are extremely delicious and can be prepared very quickly. It is basically a French recipe, which involves minimum of fuss and the expertise level is also not that high.
  • Eggs - 4
  • Salt - ¼ teaspoon
  • Sugar - ⅔ cup
  • All-purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Unsalted butter - ½ cup
  • Finely minced lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  1. First of all, preheat the oven at a temperature of 375°F so that it reaches the required temperature by the time you are ready with the mixture.
  2. Also, spray the Madeleine pans with cooking oil so that the cookies do not stick to the bottom of the pan when they are being baked.
  3. Add the four eggs and salt to a mixing bowl and beat them with the help of a mixer.
  4. Make sure they are nicely blended and are in a soapy form after five minutes.
  5. You need to gradually add the remaining ingredients.
  6. Add the sugar and the vanilla extract to the bowl and blend slowly until they are well combined.
  7. Then add the all-purpose flour and melted butter in three stages, and blend well until all the ingredients are totally combined.
  8. Make sure there are no blocks made in the mixture as that would make baking difficult.
  9. Pour the mixture in the two Madeleine pans, filling ¾th of each slot.
  10. Do not add more than the advised mixture as the cookies would expand when they are baked.
  11. Place the trays in the oven and wait for 10 minutes until the cookies are baked.
  12. You can check after 10 minutes whether they are ready or not.
  13. Remove the cookies after 10 minutes, turn each sheet upside down and gently shake the sheets so that the cookies are removed.
