How to Manually Remove a Virus From Removable Disk

Virus is a type of software programme which invades your system and gives commands without your permission which can damage or delete your data files. Mostly, viruses come from internet or from removable disk which you attach to your PC to transfer data. Even though, it is very good to have a reliable antivirus software installed in your computer which protect it from the invasion of Trojans, spyware, keyloggers and spybots. However, sometimes your antivirus is not enough to delete some viruses and in order to get rid of them you have to remove them manually from your removable disk.

Removing a virus from removable disk is not quite easy as you have to get the understanding of the Windows Task Manager and Windows Registry.

    If you intend to remove a virus from removable disk, you must keep your data backup in CDs or DVDs. It is important for you to buy good quality DVDs in order to keep your data safe because if you are going to remove any virus manually, you data files may get affected by it.

    You have to search the viruses thoroughly as mostly they resemble the names in your system files. Some viruses spread themselves in multiple folders. Therefore, you have to delete them from the Windows Registry in order to completely remove them from your disk. For instance, you cannot find the ‘SpyWorm.exe’ file in your programme folder because it is there will another name. So, you have to erase it from Registry.

    You can also find the virus by going to the task manager and then clicking on ‘Processes’ tab where you can find the name of the file containing malicious element. You have to look very carefully as some viruses will be there in disguise of system files. After finding the virus, click on ‘End Process’ button which will shut it down for the time being. Now, you should disconnect your computer from the internet as some viruses can turn on after data transmission is recommenced.
