Instructions

  • 1

Carefully read and understand the instructions manual that came along with your camcorder. Ensure that all the features detailed in the manual are working properly by testing each feature as you read about it. Reading the instructions manual will also help you get knowledge of the model's specific features.

  • 2

Shoot a video clip of about half a minute with your camcorder. You can make a video of just about anything that comes to mind. However, since it is just a test shot, it would be a good idea not to take a shot of something important.

  • 3

Play the test clip back numerous times and see what you should change in order to make future video clips better than the test clip. Make changes to the light incident on the lens of the camcorder or adjust the angle at which you were holding the camera while taking the test shot.

  • 4

After you have made the desired changes, shoot another test clip. Check to see if mistakes from the previous step still persist or not.

  • 5

Do not let your work become monotonous. This can be best accomplished by trying different features of the camcorder every now and then. In the newly introduced camcorders, there are a host of tempelates, light effects, etc which can really help you in making a shot memorable.

Keep in mind that the best way to effectively use your camcorder is to experiment with it as much as possible.
