Cucumber Sunomo Recipe Step by Step

Salads do not take long to prepare and are usually served as side dishes in a main course meal. Cucumber Sunomo Salad, as the name suggests, is a Japanese salad recipe that is prepared by soaking cucumbers in vinegar along with some seasoning. This is a nice simple salad that is prepared in no time and yet is very delicious. It is a refreshing palate cleansing salad that helps in getting the food digested real fast, especially when combined with heavy meals like grilled meats.

Below is a step by step guide that will guide you on how to prepare this quick and simple Japanese salad:

Preparation Time: 8-10 minutes
Refrigeration Time: 1 hour
Serving: 4-5 persons
Utensils: Standard Chopping Board, Standard Chopping Knife, Salad Serving Bowl or Platter, Salad Serving Spoon.
Ingredients:

-2 large Cucumbers
-¼ cup rice vinegar
-½ tablespoon salt
-½ teaspoon Grounded Black Pepper
-½ teaspoon Sugar
-½ teaspoon Soy Sauce
-¼ cup sesame seeds

    Firstly, take the cucumbers, peel them and hollow them out. Now chop them along the length and then crosswise and set them aside.

    Now take 1/3 cup of rice vinegar and add the stated amount of salt, black pepper, sugar and soy sauce in it and stir well until it takes the form of a paste. The resulting paste will be sweet and sour in taste.

    In a bowl combine the chopped cucumbers and the paste that you have just prepared and toss well. Your salad is ready now. Take it out in a serving platter or bowl. Refrigerate it for an hour before serving.
