Best Restaurants in Downtown Baltimore

Whether you’re in the mood for fine dining or casual eating, you’ll find what you’re looking for in downtown Baltimore at Power Plant Live. Located at the intersection of Market Place and Water Street, immediately off Interstate 83, in downtown, Baltimore, Power Plant Live features some of the best dining opportunities Maryland has to offer.

My favorite Baltimore Restaurant is Ruth’s Chris Steak House, located at 600 Water Street on Restaurant Row. May I humbly suggest the Porterhouse steak for two? Ruth’s Chris is fine dining at its best, combining four star restaurant traditions with contemporary decor. Fancy enough to impress, yet casual enough to unwind, Ruth’s Chris just seems to do everything right. And whether you desire the filet mignon or the Porterhouse steak or something else altogether, it’s sure to be cooked to utter perfection. Save room for dessert, because Ruth’s Chris is sure to offer something unique you just can’t pass up.

Looking for a more casual eatery? Try Mondo Bondo Italian Bistro. Located at 10 Market Place, Mondo Bondo Italian Bistro is known for its creative and colorful menu, serving at just about all hours of the day, including lunch, dinner, and even late night fare. Mondo Bondo’s menu ranges from gourmet meals to a single slice of pizza, so whether you feel like relaxing table service or something quick to go, give Mondo Bondo Italian Bistro a try.

Feeling spicy? Check out the Babalu Grill at 32 Market Place on Restaurant Row. It’s bold, it’s bright, and it’s fun. Babalu Grill serves up traditional Cuban and Latin foods with a modern twist. This Baltimore restaurant boasts a great atmosphere and generous portions at very reasonable prices. If you’re looking for flavor, look no further than the Babalu Grill.

Speaking of spicy, order a cool margarita and a pitcher of red sangria and grab a table “South of the Border” in Baltimore at MEX. Located on Market Place, MEX offers some really fantastic Mexican cuisine. MEX can get a bit noisy and crowded, but so long as your margarita is topped off, I very much doubt you’ll mind.

Finally, if you’re looking for some really down-to-earth steak and suds, head over to Rams Head Tavern at 20 Market Place. Whether you order the big, juicy steak or the chicken, fish or crabs, you’ll be delighted with your meal and the fun, energetic atmosphere. I challenge you to find a single soul in the joint without his or her hand on a beer. So, order a pint, kick back and enjoy the evening.
