Make Pies Quickly and Easily

Make pies quickly and easily by using simple recipes that taste and look delicious. One quick recipe requires cereal, ice cream and two syrups. Mix Cocoa Krispies in a bowl with light corn syrup until covered and sticky. Press the mixture into a pie pan. Scoop large balls of ice cream into the crust. Drizzle with chocolate syrup. Sprinkle with nuts if desired.

Make the pie slightly different by sprinkling chocolate morsels over the ice cream before drizzling with chocolate syrup. Ice cream comes in so many flavors now that these kinds of pies can be made in dozens of flavors. Try cherry cheesecake or even butter pecan ice cream with chocolate syrup drizzle.

A similar pie is made by tearing fudge brownies or cookies into small pieces and sprinkling them over the ice cream. Try banana pudding ice cream with vanilla wafers sprinkled over the top, chocolate ice cream with chocolate chip cookies, or vanilla ice cream with chocolate and peanut butter cookies.

Another quick pie is made with pudding mix. Mix light corn syrup with crumbled graham crackers until covered well and very sticky. Pat the mixture into a pie pan. Make banana or vanilla instant pudding and let refrigerate for 10 minutes. Slice bananas and stir them into the pudding. Pour the mixture into the pie pan then cut additional bananas to cover the top of the pie. Spread whipped cream across the whole top of the pie for a cool, delicious treat.

Something similar is done with chocolate pudding. Subtract a quarter-cup of the required milk to make the pudding thicker. Crush graham crackers and mix them with light corn syrup until covered and sticky. Press into a pie pan. Pour a third of the mix into the pie pan then crush graham crackers to form a layer over the pudding. Now pour another third of the mix in, followed by another layer of graham cracker crumbs. Pour the remainder of the pudding in the pie pan and top with a layer of whipped cream. Shave a chocolate bar on top of the whipped cream. This recipe can be made with butterscotch pudding as well. Top with butterscotch morsels. Or, make with vanilla pudding and top with chocolate or butterscotch morsels.

Buy or make a graham cracker crust and a can of cherry pie filling. Mix the filling with whipped cream until light and fluffy then pour it on the pie crust. Drizzle chocolate syrup all over the mix and chill for 20 minutes. Spread a thin layer of whipped cream over the top of the pie and chill again before serving. Substitute the cherries for blueberry, apple, or strawberry pie filling but omit the chocolate syrup for the blueberry or apple pie. You can also skip the step of mixing the fruit filling with whipped cream and simply put the filling into the pie shell before covering the top with whipped cream.

Prepare a frozen pie crust as instructed on package and allow to cool. Use cooked pudding for the mix. As you’re cooking the pudding cut up a couple of Milky Way candy bars and allow them to melt into the pudding mix. Pour into pie shell, cover in whipped cream, and sprinkle with crushed nuts. This recipe can be done with Snickers candy bars or, for a more unique dessert, mint chocolate candies. For the mint chocolate pie top with shaved mint chocolate candies.
