Practical Ways to Store Nail Polish in the Bathroom

Nail polish comes in every color of the rainbow, and it is available in many different types from magnetic formulas to those that crackle when a second coat of color is applied. It can be difficult to find just the right one when storing dozens of bottles in the bathroom. I had to find practical ways to store my daughter’s nail polish since she has countless colors and varieties. I came up with a few practical ways to store the bottles, and I chose the best one for our bathroom and our personal needs.

Begin by Marking the Lids for Fast and Easy Identification

Unless the bottles of nail polish will be visible, mark the lids for fast and easy identification. Use the polish to create color coded lids. If the clear bottles cannot be seen, specific colors can still be found without digging and extensively searching.

Use a Wall Mounted Spice Rack to Store Nail Polish in the Bathroom

My favorite way to store nail polish in the bathroom is also one of the most practical. The bottles will not take up cabinet space or valuable counter space. Use a wall mounted spice rack to store nail polish in the bathroom. You will be able to see all of the colors at a glance, but it must be mounted at the right height for ease of use.

I mounted a spice rack on the lower part of a narrow wall in my bathroom. I had to mount it lower than I preferred for my daughter. It is easy for her to reach, and even though it is lower than I would have liked, it still looks fantastic. The colors look great with our tropical decorating scheme. I mounted a cabinet above the nail polish rack to store other items. My daughter uses it to store her lotion, cologne and other things that belong in the bathroom.

Store the Bottles on a Wooden Turntable

Before we moved into our current home I did not use a spice rack to store our nail polish. We had a long bathroom counter with two sinks, and it offered plenty of space in the center. I added a wooden turntable like those used in the kitchen to store the nail polish. It worked quite well in that particular bathroom since we had lots of extra counter space, and it was easy for my daughter to reach.

Use Shallow Basket to Store Nail Polish in the Bathroom

If a spice rack or wooden turntable will not look right in your bathroom, consider adding a shallow basket. Baskets are available in all sizes and shapes, and they can be used to openly store nail polish and other beauty supplies in a bathroom. If the tops of the nail polish bottles are clearly marked, they will be easy to find. Store your nail polish using the method that works best in your bathroom, and free up space in your vanity or medicine cabinet. Using practical methods of storage can be stylish, and they will make a tremendous difference in more ways than one.
