Roller Combo Kit by Quali-Tech

We are remodeling our downstairs main bathroom, and I recently purchased painting supplies at Home Depot. Since this is a small room, I decided to try a new product, which was called a Roller Combo-Kit. This consists of a small “Roller-Lite” and a small “Roller-Foam, one painters frame, and one small black plastic paint tray.

What a joy it was to use this kit! The tray is about 1/3 smaller than a standard paint tray, and the fabric and foam rollers were only about 1 inch in diameter, with the fabric roller having a short 3/8″ nap. Even when filled with paint, the smaller tray is still lightweight and more versatile. The smaller rollers fit behind my toilet,
and above doors – they fit where standard rollers can’t!

Even though the nap is only 3/8″, it still holds a lot of paint. I was able to paint a good two foot square area with one dip. The kit info says that they are made for all paints, and can be used on both smooth and textured surfaces. Our bathroom wall is textured, and this had no problems covering the area. The narrow roller also
was able to reach into the 90 degree space between the wall and the ceiling, eliminating much of the hand painting I would normally do with a brush.

I had absolutely no issues with lint coming off of the fabric roller. As for the foam roller, I didn’t use this part of the kit. The instructions say it’s for cabinets, furniture, and metals, and will give you a smooth as glass surface with no bubbles. The manufacturer, Quali-Tech Mfg. Co., says that for painting doors and cabinets, you can paint with the Roller-Lite first, then lay off with the Roller Foam.

When I pulled my Roller-Lite fabric cover out of the paint, I had absolutely no issues with dripping, and very little splattering when I was painting my walls. I have done a lot of painting jobs around our 23 year old home, and this was one of the most pleasant painting experiences ever, and it’s all due to the tools I was using.
Because I knew I would definitely be using this kit again, I washed the roller as well as the paint tray, and both of them cleaned up nicely. My tray looked new again.

This kit was purchased for around $6.00 at Home Depot, which was a steal in my opinion! On all future paint jobs, I will be using this smaller roller to get into the corners of the room, and into the areas where the wall and ceiling meet. It made my job go so fast! I painted my bathroom in less than one hour!!

If you hate to paint as much as I do, do yourself a favor and make the job easier on yourself, and check out this Roller Combo-Kit by Quali-Tech.
