Smart Ways to Store Purses

Someone with a large number of purses must have a smart way to store and organize their collection. If the handbags are shoved into a closet or drawer, they can become irreparably damaged. They are also difficult to find when stored in a pile. It is important to store purses in smart ways that will keep them in top condition while enabling easy access. They are an investment, especially high end brands, and they should be stored with care.

I have a large collection of purses. I prefer Vera Wang and Versace, but some of my favorites are vintage beaded bags. One of my current favorites is a small black handbag that was embellished with a floral work of art by Harold Feinstein. I do not use a purse for long before switching to another one, and I had to find smart ways to store them to help protect their value and appearance.

Stuff Handbags with Paper Before Storing

When purses are not in use they should be stored with something inside to keep their shape. Use plain wrapping paper or copy paper that has been loosely crumbled into balls. Do not use paper with print of any type since it could transfer onto the material. Also, do not over stuff the bags. They should be filled with just enough paper to maintain the proper shape.

Install a Closet Rod to Store Purses in the Lower Level of the Closet

One of the best ways to store purses is a very smart method. Since I have approximately two dozen purses, I opted for an adjustable closet rod. I installed the rod beneath my racks of clothing, and I hung them from metal hooks. I organized the purses according to color. It is very easy to find a specific purse in a matter of minutes, and I know it will look absolutely perfect instead of flat or misshapen because of improper storage.

Use Open File Boxes to Store Purses on a Closet Shelf

Another smart way to store purses is in open file boxes on a closet shelf. Buy sturdy storage boxes with at least three solid partitions each. Place them side by side. Use the openings to store and organize purses according to color. They will be easy to see, and they will remain protected and free from dust and other items that could cause permanent damage.
