The Harvest

As I write…this article to encourage other believers to take part in the harvest, I feel that all I’ve wanted to express, all I’ve ever wanted to say throughout my entire life will be composed in this article.

THE HARVEST IN ME

Actually, all my life I really didn’t know what to express, I really didn’t know what to say. I guess fear of the unknown, fear of being judged by my peers was my downfall, my obstacle,… but through God I have persevered. As I have grown in faith, God has shown me little glimpses of what could be if I just follow him. He will show you glimpses and visions of what He has in store for you if you just believe and act upon it. What is the “Harvest”? Put simply, it is a time when the crop is ripe and the workers go out to gather all that is ready. The harvest as a believer in Christ is when you go out and gather up souls for Christ.

All my life I was brought up in church, and going to Heaven was preached about so many times that it put a mission in me to save souls for Christ. Specifically souls in this generation… Generation X. There isn’t a greater life to have when you work for His Kingdom.

Mark 10:29-31: 29 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, all those who have left houses, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children or farms for me and for the Good News 30 will get more than they left. Here in this world they will have a hundred times more homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and fields. And with those things, they will also suffer for their belief. But in the age that is coming they will have life forever. 31 Many who have the highest place now will have the lowest place in the future. And many who have the lowest place now will have the highest place in the future.

Scenario:

Say you were a believer and knew that you were going to Heaven when Jesus returned. Think about this… what if all your family and friends that you loved and spent your entire life with didn’t know Jesus. It doesn’t matter what good services they did in their entire lifetime, they will go to Hell in the end. Unless they BELIEVE in their heart and CONFESS with their mouths that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, they will not enter the gates to paradise.

Just imagine Heaven without your loved ones….. although there will not be any sadness or sorrow in Heaven when we get there, we are not there yet and just imagining Heaven without your loved ones is hard. Imagine entering the gates and walking in. Imagine your family weeping and reaching for you because their names were not written in the Book of Life. Tears flowing, eternal life is at stake. Their breath is getting shorter and thinner. Then, Satan’s angels come and take them away. The last time you will EVER get to see them again.

Just this thought should make you think what are you doing today that will help that unsaved loved one come to the saving blood of Christ. What we do today will effect our eternity.

The harvest is ready. Generation X is ready to hear the Good News. Pray and have faith that God will give you a plan to effect your local community in a way that when you get to Heaven the angels and saints applaud you. What is there to lose? Earthly friends that will reject the truth you are trying to tell, family members that ignore Jesus? Although this might happen, you will gain Gods favor, you will have eternal life in Heaven, you will have angels and saints as friends. Remember this life is just a vapor in the wind, it will end in a blink of an eye, it is a wave tossed in the ocean. 80+ years on earth is no comparison to ETERNITY in Heaven. God is separating those who love him and those who don’t, who will you stand for?
