The Learning Curve

The learning curve is not so frightening

If each person competes with only himself

To do better than his previous best

With no shame for failure, rather the hope

Of seeing and understanding the errors

And stepping carefully around them next time.

This is how we learn in life

Or may it be so, that we grow in love and caring

And treat ourselves and others gently

For the recognition of our own imperfections.

But let us not see ghosts where there are differences

For each has the right to follow the calling of the heart.

Our beliefs and values, goals and desires are golden

And different does not imply failure or bad.

Trust that the Universe rewards compassion

And employ it wherever you go and learn.
