Want to Build a Cheap PC?

Have you ever wanted to build your own computer? There are so many websites with cheap parts that are only a click away. They are reliable and efficient and if you search enough you are sure to find some great deals and build a good machine cheap. The key is to look at all of your options and take your time.

Newegg.com is probably my favorite site to find parts for building a machine. The site is very well laid out and user friendly. Looks good and is easy to navigate even for less advanced computer users. Newegg’s site has daily deals which is the first page that is displayed when you first get to their site, and they normally have some great deals. This is the first place I go when I start to look at parts for a PC build.

Newegg always has a few great deals everyday, I usually check their deal pages daily and find something I need or want for my PC build. The more you look the better the deal you will find. You can generally get most of your parts at Newegg if you keep a close eye on the site.

I also like Newegg because they allow you to pay with paypal this is a huge plus for me and many other buyers. It makes payment safe and secure; although I would trust Newegg anyway I just prefer paypal payment. Shipping from Newegg is always good too; I have always received my parts on time if not earlier. A lot of times you get things next day even if you choose the 3-4 day method, they have excellent shipping practices.

Another feature of Newegg that I appreciate is user comments on the products. This gives you an idea of how the product functioned for other people who purchased it. This has come in handy many times for me. Sometimes you don’t know if a motherboard will be compatible with certain features of your hardware and you will see in a post that the motherboard wasn’t compatible with certain hardware. Also they often post what is good about the product and why you might want to purchase it.

Last thing about this site that I like is how they are willing to replace parts that are damaged or not working when you receive them. They are very good at replacing broken equipment; they do it fast and without any hassle. This company is kicking butt in the customer support department.

Buy.com is another website that sells cheap computer equipment. Not as many good deals as Newegg.com but it still has some good deals if you watch closely enough. The only problem with this site is that it doesn’t deal solely with computer parts; they sell all sorts of junk. This can be a problem when you are seeking just computer stuff, but they have links that can help you avoid all the crap you don’t want or need to look at.

Buy.com is a little cluttered and the site could use a rework to make it a little easier to navigate and use but all in all it is ok. They have their computer stuff broken down into groupings of links, or you can just search the site for what you are looking for. This site you have to look a little harder for the deals they don’t just show them to you upfront. That is a flaw in my eyes but if you take the time you can find the good deals. Also most of their products qualify for free shipping which passes huge savings on to the buyer.

Buy.com offers replacement plans on their products at a reasonable rate which can also save you money in the long run. I don’t normally buy into the replacement stuff but with electronics you might want to think about it and weigh your options. Shipping is usually pretty fast normally in 2 days tops and again most of their items have free shipping which is awesome. Buy.com is usually the second place I look for parts when I am deal shopping for a budget PC.

Geeks.com is another good site for bargain computer equipment. This site much like Newegg.com is dedicated to computer parts and equipment. This site is easy to work, basic layout with links to specifics and a search box. They have daily specials which I like and also a new arrivals section which I like. They also have an all-time best sellers list which lets you know what everyone thinks are the best deals on the site.

Geeks.com is starting to become a better site, recent additions include allowing payment via paypal.com which again I love; it’s a secure way to buy online. Also they take part in pricegrabber.com which is just a search engine to find low prices, more for their benefit than yours but it can help you out too.

Geeks.com also shows the quantity of the products, how many they started with and how many they have left. This feature helps you to know if it is selling well and if you have time to shop around for a better buy. Overall Geeks.com is another good site where you can find a multitude of good deals for your PC building needs.

Outletpc.com another site with lots of daily deals, its first page is a little cluttered and not really big, but it’s not that bad. They don’t have as big of a list of products as the other sites which is a huge disadvantage for them but again, looking all the time is the key to finding the best deals for a budget pc.

Pretty easy to work with site, they have decent prices and every now and then some great deals. Outletpc.com ships pretty fast and normally is pretty easy to work with if something goes wrong. They aren’t as easy as Newegg.com but they are willing to accept broken or damaged products if it happened during shipping.

I don’t like their payment methods as well they only accept a few methods, but paypal.com is one of them so that helps them win points with me. I am all about using paypal.com to pay for my stuff online. Outletpc.com needs to get more pull in the market and get more products so they can start competing on a larger scale but they do have some good deals from time to time. This is a site you should check often and buy things when they are very cheap.

Cyberguys.com is another site that I catch a good deal on from time to time. They have a rather cluttered site and if you ask me bad product placement on the front page, but they have links to help you weed through the crap you don’t want or need. They also have an outlet center link, which I like it makes me think they have good deals there, which they normally do.

They also offer a new items link and best sellers link; I like this so I know what they are getting in and what they are selling the most so I know if they have what I want. This also tells me if it’s selling well on the site. If it’s selling well then chances are that it’s rather cheap. They also have an order status button so you know what is going on with your purchases. Nice little addition if you ask me.

So these are just some of the main sites that I frequent when I buy computer parts for building PC’s. I suggest taking your time and searching for parts frequently, you can build a nice computer very cheap if you can wait and shop the deals. I got a free motherboard after the rebate, you just have to shop around and you will find some great deals. Good luck building your budget PC, hope these sites help you as much as they have helped me.
