Black Velvet Cocktail Recipe

Black Velvet Cocktail is one of the great mixed drinks, combining amazing flavours of Champagne and beer. Chilled stout is another main ingredient of this drink, which is a dark beer made using roasted malt or roasted barley, water, hops and yeast. However, you can replace the Champagne with sparkling wine. This recipe makes one drink and takes just two minutes. It is one of the great drinks to serve on hot days of summer. Bartender of the Brooks’ Club of London first prepared Black Velvet in 1861, while mourning the death of Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s Prince Consort. The bitterness of one ingredient of this alcoholic drink combines with the tang of the other and makes a perfect flavour. It is always better to serve this drink in a Collins glass for a perfect presentation but if you do not have a Collins glass, you can use any of the cocktail glass as well. You must try this unique drink.

– 4 oz Champagne
– 4 oz chilled stout
– Ice cubes

    Carefully and thoroughly wash your hands and the entire work surface that you will be using to prepare this wonderful cocktail. Remember to also wash all the utensils and glasses that you will be also using for this recipe. It is a good idea to make it a habit to clean everything before preparing any type of food item.

    Place a Collins glass in your refrigerator until you make the black velvet cocktail. Meanwhile, pick up a cocktail mixing glass and add 4 oz of champagne into it. Place 2 to 3 ice cubes in it. Stir gently for 1 or 2 seconds until mix. Remember to use good quality champagne as this can definitely add to flavor of this exciting cocktail recipe.

    Now, take out the glass from refrigerator and pour the champagne mixture into it. Be sure to be careful while pouring as you do not want to spill any of this cocktail mixture on the floor.

    Gently pour the 4 oz of properly chilled stout on the top the champagne mixture. Garnish it with lemon, lime, or orange wedge if you want and serve immediately. Remember it is entirely up to you as to how you want to garnish and serve this cocktail. It is always best to serve this cocktail right after making it so that it is nice and chilled. Your guests will definitely enjoy this delightful cocktail.
