Guavas and Plums with Vanilla Syrup and Pistachio Nuts Recipe

Let us change the way you eat your fruits. The salad uses some of our favorite fruits and makes them much more exciting. Plums and guavas are combined with pistachio nuts that give the dish a crunchy texture. The vanilla extract makes things a lot better. The salad can be used as an excellent fresh dessert and also as a starter that will set the standards high for the main course.

The recipe here serves four people. If you wish to change the serving size, alter the quantity of the ingredients. However, do keep the proportion the same for perfect consistent results. The salad is one of those which can be prepared on a short notice of ten minutes, provided you have the ingredients. It comes under the healthiest ways to eat and is free of any oil or fat. Utensils required: pan, four individual salad bowls


– 425g can plums
– 425g can guava halves
– 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
– 50g chopped pistachio nuts

    Open up the cans of guava and plum. Drain the syrup from both the cans into a large saucepan and start heating it. Cook them until the syrup is reduced to almost half and goes fairly thick. This will make your dressing. Add 1 tablespoon vanilla extract to the cooking syrup.

    While the syrup is going, divide the plums among the four serving bowls. Do the same with the guava halves. However you may have to de-stone the guavas. Spoon over the syrup over the fruits. Now sprinkle the chopped pistachio nuts all over the bowls and serve to the delight of everyone.
