Convince yourself that being late is not considered among good etiquettes. Once you accept tardiness as rudeness and something that can result in you being disliked by others, you will find yourself making a greater effort to become punctual.
Understand that tardiness is neither cool nor fashionable. There may be some societies and cultures where this evil has become somewhat respectful, majority of the societies and cultures consider it as inappropriate. Timeless and paying attention to clock is crucial if you are living in culture and part of a society that does not consider tardiness as cool or fashionable.
Ask yourself why you are struggling to become punctual. Is it because of anxiety? Is the feeling that you simply cannot reach any place on time causing you become somewhat laid back and bringing your self-esteem down?
Once you manage to pin-point the factor that is preventing you from becoming punctual, start working on it. The best thing to do is to make a plan on removing that particular factor so that you can get to places on time.
If you have to be somewhere early in the morning, such as school or work, make sure that you go to bed early. Do not stay up too late to complete a movie or watch the latest episode of your favourite show. You can always watch them later by getting them on DVD or Blu-Ray.
Understand that time is money and therefore it needs to be valued. Do not waste it on unnecessary activities.
