How to Make a Yogurt Shake

A yogurt shake is a good breakfast option for you and your kids when you are rushing to work and do not have time to cook. Also it is a refreshing alternative when you are craving for a chilled sweet shake. Moreover, a fruit and yogurt shake is a quick, easy and healthy way to get more calcium and fruit into your child’s diet.

You can use any of your or your kid’s favourite fruit, such as peaches, mangos, strawberries, bananas or pineapples to flavour and thicken your yogurt shake. In the original recipe, frozen strawberries have been used, but you can experiment with different fruits and flavours for a more exotic treat. You can also use two or more fruits to make your drink more delicious. However, make sure that you use non-fat yogurt and skimmed milk to keep the fat level low.

Utensils: Blender or smoothie maker, Cup, Knife, Peeler, Glass


– 1/2 cup yogurt
– 1/2 cup milk
– 8 frozen strawberries
– 3 tablespoons of sugar
– 1 teaspoon Vanilla
– A pinch of Cinnamon powder

    Take a glass and chill it in the refrigerator, since shakes taste best when chilled.

    Spoon 1/2 cup yogurt into the blender or smoothie maker. Also add half cup milk and eight frozen strawberries.

    Add three tablespoons of sugar, one teaspoon vanilla and a pinch of cinnamon to the above mixture.

    Blend the mixture well until the frozen strawberries have been mashed up and the drink looks smooth. If the blended mixture is too thick, add some more milk and give it a mild swirl.

    Take the glass out of the refrigerator when you are done with preparing your yogurt shake.

    Pour the smoothie into the chilled glass, garnish it with a fresh strawberry and enjoy right away.
