Are you thinking of having a delicious soup for dinner? Well you can try the beef and barley soup, as it is nutritious and your family will love it. It does not take a lot of time to prepare and the recipe is an easy one too.
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Boneless sirloin steak (cut into ¾ inch cubes) – 1 ¼ pounds
  • Beef broth – 1
  • Barley – ¾
  • Package of frozen mixed vegetables – 1 10 Oz.
  1. Take a medium sized bowl and chop all the vegetables into it. Make sure that the vegetables are washed before you slice them down.
  2. Put a fry pan on medium heat and pour some vegetable oil into it. The pan should be completely dry before you start using it.
  3. Although the vegetables can be used as fresh, you have the option to fry them too. The latter option will make them a bit crispy. Therefore, cook them on medium heat for five minutes, so that they get a golden brown texture. You can now remove them from the pan and place them in the bowl again.
  4. You can now use the same pan to cook the beef. Make sure that you don’t overheat the skittle. Make sure that the entire base is covered with oil so that nothing sticks to the bottom of the pan.
  5. Once the oil gets heated, put the beef into the pan and cook it for some time. You have to make sure that it gets browner from all sides. Therefore, continue tossing and shaking the pan to get your desired result.
  6. Once the beef gets ready, move it to the saucepan, as you will need to add more ingredients to it now.
  7. Combine the barley and beef into the saucepan and pour water on it. Allow it to cook for about 10 minutes and continue stirring the mixture while it gets ready.
  8. Now cover the water, which includes barley and beef, and allow it to boil for a few minutes. You will now get a thick mixture.
  9. Once the water boils, add the fried vegetables and stir for about five minutes. You will now get your delicious beef and barley soup. Allow it to cool down a bit and then serve to everyone.
