Instructions

  • 1

    Purchase mackerel fish

The mackerel fish is usually available in local stores or seafood markets, but if it is not available in your area then you should search for it at an Asian store. If you can afford to, the fish can also be bought on the internet but it would cost you a lot more. Therefore, it is recommended that you look for mackerel in your region and buy it directly.

  • 2

    Clean the fish

Once you have purchased the fish, you need to gut and clean the fish thoroughly, leaving the head and the tail.

  • 3

    Mix the ingredients

Having cleaned the mackerel or the codfish, you should now mix salt, red and black pepper together in a small bowl. These ingredients can be easily mixed and stirred using a teaspoon. Now you have to rub the mixture over the fish thoroughly.

Move towards the next step now and mix the crushed croutons together or the cornmeal and the flour. Just like you coated the peppers and the salt on the fish, repeat the same process with the flour mixture and make sure that no part of the fish remains uncoated.

  • 4

    Fry the fish

Arrange a deep frying pan according to the size of the fish. If the fish is too big for the pan then cut into two halves. Heat the oil to 350 degrees and fry the mackerel or the codfish for about 7 minutes on each side.

Place a paper towel on a nice plate and put the fish on it. Allow it to cool down a bit before you start to eat it.
