Pour the Japanese sweet rice wine in the saucepan. Then, place the saucepan on a medium heat stove and cook it for around 10 to 12 minutes.
Add soy sauce and granulated sugar in the saucepan and stir them with the spatula. After that, you have to add rice vinegar and sesame oil. Make sure every ingredient is mixed well before taking any step further.
Take the garlic cloves, mince them properly, and add them in the saucepan. Then add the fresh poppy seed and stir the mixture gradually.
If you want to make your sauce spicy, you can add a dash of black pepper or red pepper flakes. Cook the sauce for around 5 more minutes.
Take the airtight container and put the teriyaki sauce into it. Place the container in the refrigerator until it gets cooler and ready to use.
You can also make the teriyaki sauce without boiling it on the stove. Just add a cup of honey in a large mixing bowl. Add the soy sauce, Japanese saki or rice wine and the dry white wine in the bowl.
Mix all the ingredients well. After that, add fresh ginger into the honey mixture. You can also add the juice of fresh oranges in the mixture to make it tastier.
Take a spoon and mix all the ingredients again. Then, place the sauce in the freezer; it will be ready to use after a week.
