You first need to wash a crack pot and then add water along with caramel. Cover the pot and turn on the burner, allowing the caramel and water mixture to cook for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

  • 2

You can also let it cook until the caramel has melted.

  • 3

As your caramel cooks, wash a pan, dry it with a towel or fine cloth and line it with wax paper. You also need to butter the paper.

  • 4

Since cooking the caramel will take quite some time, you can wash the apples and then dry them as well. After this you will need to insert a stick into the stem end. When you are done you can take a nap, play with the kids or watch some television as you wait for the caramel paste to prepare.

Once the caramel sauce is done, take it out on a saucepan or pour it in a clean pot to keep it warm as you begin to dip the apples.

  • 6

When you start dipping the apples, do one apple at a time and be sure to coat the entire surface of the apple with caramel.

  • 7

Once you have properly coated an apple, you then need to scrape off excess caramel from the bottom of the apple.

  • 8

In the next step you have to place the apples in the pan with the wax paper, and once all the apples are in place you have to spoon the hot caramel on the apples.

Now put this pan in the refrigerator for a while before serving.
