Most businesses have a set number of days off that they allow their employees to take every year as paid leaves. In most cases, any leaves beyond that are either unpaid leaves or for emergency situations like sickness or other pressing matters. In order for an employee to take full advantages of a paid leave they must first inform the management about their plans and get them approved. This means that the next time you need to attend a function of any sort, you should follow your companies policies on leaves. Most places have a set procedure for acquiring days off. This probably involves filling out a form and getting it approved from all concerned parties. If their is no defined method, then you should write function leave letter similar to the templates given below.
