The NYFA’s acting for film summer camp is perfect for the teen who loves to act and be in the spotlight. This camp is open to teens aged 14-17 and there are several schedules to choose from that can fit both your time and your budget requirements. You and your child can choose from:
– 1 week AMC workshop
– 3 week workshop
– 4 week workshop
– 6 week Advanced workshop
– 12 weekend workshop
Tuition for the NYFA’s acting for film program ranges from $1,000 for a 1 week or 12 weekend workshop to $5,500 for a 6-week Advanced workshop.
Teens will get to spend part of their lessons in front of a real film crew since they often combine with the filmmaking students to simulate a real live filming environment! Areas covered include:
– Acting technique
– Acting for film and television
– Film craft
– Scene and monologue work
– Audition techniques
– Master classes (in select programs)
– Yoga for actors (in select programs)
– Comedy and improvisation (in select programs)
– Shakespeare (in select programs)
One major benefit of the camp is that teens who plan to continue their career as an actor or actress will have a chance of being cast in student productions put on by students of the film school. If this happens, they will have film reels from these shows that they can use to apply for future casting auditions. Furthermore, students will be given techniques to use at these auditions to improve their chance of landing a part.
The NYFA’s filmmaking summer camp will give your future actor or actress a true taste of how much fun acting can be, a group of friends who share their love for the craft, and memories to last a lifetime.
