Bic White Out, Three Versions Compared

I use Bic Wite Out products for my crafts, correcting my check ledger, decoupage proje

cts and billing. I find there are positives and negatives to the three versions I use. Iuse the tape, the liquid and the pen.

The Bic Wite Out pen is a great product but there are some hurdles when you use it.Be sure to test an area first to avoid the runniness, or the product coming out too thick or gooey the first application. It can dry lumpy or bubbly when it dries and has a tendency to crack when you try to write on it. So these are just some things you need to deal with, some of the negatives as compared to the Wite out paper.

Warnings:

FLAMMABLE (This is in Bold Small Print)
KEEP AWAY FROM FIRE OF FLAME
KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN
DO NOT SWALLOW OR INHALE
Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating or inhaling contents can be harmful or fatal

Directions:

1) Shake well before use
2) Remove Cap

Shake ‘n Squeeze Correction Pen’s tip, which is very fine. This is supposed to increase precision and neatness. The body of the applicator pen is soft and requires little effort but more control. The cap is plastic and has a clip that can be attached to notebooks or your pocket.. The cap fits snugly on the pen . In order to use this pen you must shake it well with the cap on. After you take off the clear cap, you just push down firmly on the tip and squeeze the barrel. Then use it just like a pen to remove whatever you want unseen. .

3) Push Down Firmly on tip and squeeze on barrel .
4) Use just like a pen
5) Recap after each use

Bic Wite Out in a bottle has a sponge applicator or a brush applicator. The one I prefer is the that offers a sponge tip which I find better than the former tip, bristles. I find it better for large areas. You get more control with even spreading and unlike bristles where you can get little hairs in your corrected areas. You tend to use more liquid when its on a brush whereas the pen dispenses very little giving you more precision IF (thats a big if) the contents come out properly. Since the tip tends to have dried out material on it from previous use you have to be sure to press down firmly or clean the tip aftereach use.

Bic Wite Out liquid in a bottle dries fast so go for two coats rather than one. It offers a foam-tipped applicator as opposed to the former applicator, a brush.

It comes in a small white plastic bottle with a gray and yellow label. The bottle holds .7 fluid ounces of white liquid. When the top of the bottle is unscrewed, there is a foam-tipped wand attached to the inside of the cap.

Use: Shake well before using, keep tightly covered, wipe bottle threads before closing.

The manufacturer recommends stroking the liquid over the page rather than dabbing it. For me dabbing works better. It starts out glossy but dries to a matte finish. The coverage from liquid is more for large areas. Curved areas. Once it’s dry it can be put in a copier or fax machine Be sure to cover both sides of the page if you don’t want anyone to bea ble to figure out what it is you’re covering.

Brush vs sponge-brush can leave hairs, sponge can leave blobs. Either way the result can be flaked off when written on.

Warning:
Extremely Flammable
Keep away from CHildren
Toxic and possibly fatal if sniffed/inhaled

Bic Wite Out Correction Tape comes in a red see through dispenser that fits nicely in the hand. Being see through you can keep track of how much you’ve used. It dispenses easily from the side and gives you good coverage. It is rather visible on paper and you would probably need to cover front and back of the paper you’re using to keep the copy invisible. It measures 1/2″. It also is very bright and contrasts with most paper due to its extreme whiteness. $1.99 to $2.49 each.

It is easy to hold and works very well to cover up mistakes. I like the way it feeds from the side and not the tip. You press down gently. It dispenses easily so all in all I’m quite fond of the tape method, no globs, no runniness. So each version has its positives and negatives but each serves a purpose.
