Deleted Chapter from Novel Justified Sin

I’m putting my pants back on while she lights a well-earned cigarette. She takes a long drag of utter tranquility and eases back into the pillows. She holds the sheet tight around her chest, showing off those gorgeous curves that my hands were wrapped around not five minutes before. Normally, I don’t mix with my business but her blood test came back clean, well, as clean as can be for a heroine addict. I keep mine wrapped anyways. Can’t be leaving DNA all over the place, now can I? Her cigarette is almost down to the filter and I’m just beginning to enjoy a moment of actual peace when someone slams into the front door.
“Jessie!” he screams. “Open the fucking door!”
Panicking, she throws her cigarette on the ground and grabs her robe. “You got to get the hell out of here!” she cries over her shoulder as she rushes out of the bedroom.
She makes it to the door just as he busts it off its hinges, throwing her to the floor. “Where is he?”
“Who?”
“Don’t be stupid. My boys saw him come in an hour ago.” His boys, two ‘roid-juiced gorillas with deep set eyes and iron jaws, wander into the room with guns drawn.
He moves toward the bedroom and she screams, “No!”
Thanks for the extra time sweetheart.
He pulls his gun and puts three bullets through the door before kicking it in. His gorillas rush in to an empty room and an open window. Like the stupid filth they are, both move right to the window scanning up and down the fire escape. Unfortunately, he is smarter. His eyes narrow on the closet door thinking that if he were some two-timing sleaze, where would he hide?
He puts another three into the closet and swings the door open. “Gotcha!” Unfortunately being smarter than his two goons doesn’t exactly make him smart. All he finds is an empty closet with three bullet holes in the back wall. “Where could he-“
He never finishes the sentence and his boys never answer. I come out from behind the door with my silencer raised.
Pop. Pop. Pop.
All three fall without a scream. The only sound is a gurgling coming from the neck shot of one of the gorillas but that will stop in about a minute when is body runs out of blood. The other two are clean head shots, dead before they hit the ground.
She stumbles into the room to find me standing over the bodies.
“Dear God.” She falls to her knees, babbling something about saving her or God or something.
She raises her pretty, tear streaked eyes to find the end of my silencer.
Pop.
She doesn’t scream either.
A weird tingling sits on the back of my neck. She wasn’t the filth that these three were. They were parasites, sucking, destroying everything they touched, including her. She may not have been filth but she still smelled filthy. I stare at that perfect little body, now lying in a pool of crimson. That lingering tingle gives me a shiver, reminding me I’m still human. As I grab the bag of Benjamin’s from its hiding place in the living room wall, the feeling starts to go away.
