Here Comes the 27th National Sports Collectors Convention in Anaheim

The 27th National Sports Collectors Convention is set to take place at the end of July. The annual event is considered “The World’s Largest Sports & Entertainment Convention.” This year’s National Sports Collectors Convention will take place from July 26-30 in Anaheim, California. The event is being hosted by the Anaheim Convention Center.

The first National Sports Collectors Convention was held in Los Angeles back in 1980 and has grown ever since. The event has traveled throughout the country, finding a different home every year. Last year’s event in Chicago was extremely successful, and this year’s event is expected to be even better.

The event is open to anyone who wants to go. The casual collector will pay the one-day general admission price of fifteen dollars, but the serious sports cards and memorabilia collector will be opting for the ninety-dollar weeklong VIP pass.

The National Sports Collectors Convention will begin on Wednesday, July 26 with its Sneak Peek night from 5-9 PM. The show will continue Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 AM-6 PM. The final day, Sunday, July 30, will last from 10 AM-5 PM. The hours are subject to change closer to the date.

The National Sports Collectors Convention will bring together over 700 dealers and distributors of sports and entertainment cards and memorabilia to the 400,000 square foot convention show floor in Anaheim. There will also be at least 50 Corporate Displays at the event.

Along with plenty of cards and memorabilia for sale and for trade, the National Sports Collectors Convention will also include the Autograph Pavilion. Over the course of the weekend, more than 60 athletes and celebrities will sign autographs for fans. Some will charge high dollar amounts, but some will sign for free.

The VIP Package for this year’s National Sports Collectors Convention will cost $99. The package includes a pass for the entire week as well as plenty of bonuses. Some of the bonuses include a Special Draft Swatch Card of either Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, or Vince Young, exclusive card sets from Donruss/Playoff, Topps, Upper Deck, eTopps, and SAGE, and an autograph package that includes 12 autograph tickets to be used for selected VIP autograph guests.
