Review of Limited Edition, Winter Collection, Glade Sparkling Clementine Candle

I have always collected new fragrant candles, especially from Glade who managed to make a fan of me a few years back when they re-invented their entire collection of products, and became hot competitors for big brand names like Febreze.

This winter Glade of course released a bunch of wintery scents for fans to enjoy. I spotted the Sparkling Clementine Candle, and nearly left it behind seeing that I am not a huge fan of citrus fragrances.

Seeing that it stated Citrus & Clove on the package, I went ahead and gave the little orange candle a sniff. My nose was flooded with a gorgeous fragrance that was not just a high spike of citrus, instead my senses were flooded with a very subtle hint of citrus, mixed with warm spices. I imagine it was the clove, but I also got a very small and subtle warm hint of cinnamon, which I loved. I usually never would associate clementines with winter, but this particular fragrance managed to make me think of winter. Thus fitting in the winter collection flawlessly.

All in all, the candle smelled delicious, mouth watering even, and seeing that Glade always delivers nice fragrant candles, I expected nothing less for when I took the candle home to burn it.

When Lit:

This is probably the first time, in a very long time that Glade managed to disappoint me. Sparkling Clementine when burned delievered almost nothing. I began to wonder if I got the bottom of the barrel wax, and that no oils was included in the mix, because it gave off nothing but light and heat. The candle smelled great when it was not lit, so I do not know how or why the candle refused to disperse any of the scent.

I let it burn for hours, thinking the longer it burned the better it would get. Only that never happened. Nothing ever dispersed as far as fragrance from this one.

It was a real shame because I knew if it burned, and it smelled as good as it did when it was not lit, it would have been a favorite of mine.

Overall:

I am really shocked that Sparkling Clementine delivered nothing. Glade usually manages to impress me time and time again, and because of this first experience with their newest winter collection I am slightly hesitant to waste more money on buying their other winter collection candles this year.
