There is no way to describe the crisp cool air, abundant floral creations and cool rippling brooks that comprise Tizer Gardens.
The native plants in Montana are abundant. The varied bulbs and annual flowers are systematically planted so that each part of the season has color. The roses are fragrant and colorful. It must be the phenomenal soil these owners have used. It can be purchased.
The bridge across the cool spring creek has abundant plant life and a subline experience. I enjoy the hummingbirds and various birds flitting around the gardens. The plants are the healthies I have ever seen. The good news is that you can purchase small plants to take home. The Astor I purchased has lasted some of the harshest winters you can imagine. It not only survives, but it flourishes. The Astor should be blooming fairly soon, bright fuschia color with a yellow center.
Some of the summer events include Firefly Fridays. The garden stays open until 9 pm. Bring your own hot dogs and marshmellows and enjoy. The garden often has entertainment. The owners Belva Lotzer and Dick Krott are a treat with expertise in horticulture you can count on. I would recommend it to families, and singles alike. It is accessible for handicap visitors as well as safe for toddlers. I would recommend this as an excellent spot to hold business seminars. Brainstorming would be perfect in this serene and welcoming garden. There are picnic area and areas that can be reserved. In fact weddings are more than welcome in this beautiful garden and all arrangements can be made with local vendors.
International visitors are frequent here and last count involved more than 20 countries. Visitors to the capitol city of Helena are very impressed with the garden aound the State Capitol Building. The architecture is exqusite and the flowers are arranged in a welcoming sign in colors native to Montana. The Capitol is a sight to behold in and of itself and is worth the time. A quick drive south on Interstate 15 for about 15 miles will lead you to the Tizer Gardens.
