Before there was Wallpaper Warehouse, most Boiseans bought their discount wallpaper at the Sherwin Williams Paint store. The selection wasn’t huge, but the prices were terrific with discount bins priced as low as 90% off regular retail. Sherwin Williams also carries a great selection of wallpaper sample books that can be checked out.

For small wallpaper projects requiring less than one or two double rolls, local thrift stores often carry a small selection of heavily discounted wallpaper that were left over from someone else’s wallpaper makeover. Yes, the choices are limited and some of the patterns are downright strange, but for 50Ã?¢ to $1 a double roll, what can you expect? For old house people doing a retro room makeover, the thrifts are where you may even score genuine vintage wall paper with 50s rocket ships or 60s mod daisies. In Boise, Deseret Industries and the Idaho Youth Ranch seem to consistently have a few rolls of cheap wallpaper in stock.
