- Bread slices
- Butter, margarine or light mayonnaise
- Smoked turkey
- Tomato slices
- Mozzarella cheese (optional)
Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise, margarine or butter on the inner side of both the bread slices. Cover one slice with lettuce and place a very thin layer of smoked turkey (especially if you are just introducing your kid to eating turkey). Add tomato slices and mozzarella cheese and top it with another slice of bread.
- One pound Turkey breasts
- One small Onion
- Two Eggs
- One tablespoon oil
Grind turkey breasts in a meat grinder or in a food processor and add a finely chopped onion to it. Add two eggs and breadcrumbs to this mixture and season it mildly with salt and pepper. Also pour in two tablespoons of olive oil, mix well and place this mixture in the refrigerator for 12 hours. Make small balls of this mixture and give these balls the shape of a burger patty and grill them or shallow fry. Serve these turkey burgers like regular burgers and your kids would love them.
- 1 turkey, approx. 15 lbs.
- Juice of a lemon
- Salt and pepper
- Olive oil or melted butter
- 1/2 yellow onion, peeled and quartered
- Tops and bottoms of a bunch of celery
- 2 carrots
- Sprigs of fresh rosemary, thyme
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Wash the turkey thoroughly with water and pat dry with paper towel. Rub a small amount of salt all over the inside of the turkey and lather it with lemon juice. To add some flavour to your roasted turkey, put yellow onion, parsley, celery and a couple of baby carrots in the cavity. Close up the turkey cavity with a clean string, making sure the legs of the turkey are tied together and held close to the body. Rub olive oil or melted butter all over the skin of the turkey and sprinkle salt and pepper over the turkey. Place the turkey in the oven preheated at 400 degrees Fahrenheit and allow it to cook for 30 to 45 minutes.
