How to Become an Army MP

Being part of the army is a unique and challenging adventure. People who join the army are willing to sacrifice their lives at any moment for their people and country, when the need arises. Same goes for police officers who are constantly on duty while the in the army they may be on reserve. If you have a passion of doing both things and experiencing the best of both worlds, joining the military police may just be what you are looking for.

The military has their own law enforcing ways and specialised soldiers are trained to be part of the Military Police. These officials may not be seen normally but they are present to enforce military rules and regulations, take action against vigilant civilians and army officials as they are between both worlds. Routine duties such as traffic control and taking care of emergency situations are also done by military police officials in special cases.

    In order to become an Army MP, it is important for you to enroll in the army first through a local recruiter. These recruiters are not hard to find as there are many advertisements in local newspapers and on television channels when they are in need of more people to join the service. Asking the recruiter for more information about joining the military police will make it clear as he or she will be able to guide you through the process of which tests are needed to qualify for entry into the Military Police School.

    Being part of the military police requires a person to be more mature in age, which is why the minimum age limit is 21 in the United States and many countries around the world, while joining the army can be done at the age of 18.

    Basic Training

    Like all other law enforcement training, military police schools have their own training routine to get a person ready to tackle all situations they may face in the real world. In the United States, this training is categorised into 9 weeks of basic training, followed by 8 to 12 weeks of advanced training.

    Choosing a Field

    In the military police, there are various fields a person can choose to go into. There are Criminal Investigations Special Agents or Internment/Resettlement Specialists. Those students who possess a higher education can opt to go into either field, or more if available depending on your area.
