Instructions

  • 1

Consider the audience before you choose Jiu Jitsu moves, as you will need different moves for workout routine and different moves for public demonstration.

So, always choose the moves wisely, or else, you may end up losing attention, especially if you are demonstrating Jiu Jitsu to a general public.

  • 2

You should always try to select a routine that you are already proficient with and comfortable using. Whether you are performing for a big group or just a few students, you want it to look good. Therefore, you should be good at something before you can make the others feel good about it.

  • 3

String the Jiu Jitsu techniques you choose in Step 2 together into a routine. You might organise them by type – grappling techniques, take downs, chokes – or you could put them together to look like an actual fight, going back and forth between the types of techniques. What you choose will, again, depend on your audience.

  • 4

Time the routine to make sure it does not exceed the time you are allowed. If you are not sure how much time you have, you better check it beforehand.

  • 5

Practice hard and then practice some more. How good your Jiu Jitsu moves look, depends on how good you were at them to start with and how much you have practiced. Once you can do the routine in your sleep or envision it step by step in your mind, you are ready to perform.
