How to Cool Down After Running

Exercise is really important for us to stay active, regardless of the fact that we are into sports or not. Some people believe that such activities are only for those who play a professional game. However, this is a wrong perception and we should all give some time to our bodies in order to stay fit.

Another wrong perception is associating exercise to lifting weights in the gym. Although, that too is a part of exercise, the best thing for everyone is run/jog. It helps you curb the excess fats in the body. As a result, you stay fit and active throughout the day. There are many athletes in the world, who prefer jogging over other techniques, as it makes your legs and back muscles sturdy.

However, you have to take care of some important things while running, otherwise you will break down pretty soon. You should never try exceeding your limits in the first place, as that can damage your muscles badly. Consider it as a car, which stops functioning if the engine gets overly heated. So, make sure that you know how to cool your body down after jogging.

Instructions

  • 1

    Never overrun

The most important thing is not to overrun, as that can hurt your muscles. You are the best judge of your body, so try and do everything within your limits. You can start increasing the speed and jogging rounds with the passage of time, but don’t try to achieve something extraordinary straight away.

    Don’t stop abruptly

Whenever you are finished with jogging, continue moving your muscles for a few minutes. Some people stop abruptly, which can be bad for their fitness. Once you are done with running, walk for at least one round.

  • 3

    Do some stretches

Once you are done with the jog and walk, it is better to do a few stretching exercises. Your muscles will be relaxed in that way and you will not feel any stiffness in your body.

  • 4

    Breathe some air

After doing the stretches, sit on a bench or grass and breathe some air. You can skip this part if you like, but it will be better to do it for at least 10 minutes.

  • 5

    Drink plenty of water

Keep drinking water throughout the day, especially after you are finished with jogging.

  • 6

    Take an ice bath

Its the perfect to cool down after a length jog on a hot day.
