How to Make a Herbsaint Frappe Cocktail

The Herbsaint Frappe cocktail has proved itself as a popular drink that uses Herbsaint for the alcoholic content in the recipe. The cocktail is mentioned in every Herbsaint booklet and bartending manuals from 1934 to mid of 1950s. It is a favourite cocktail of New Orleans people and is consumed most during warm and humid evenings and nights. The cocktail is made by making use of Herbsaint, which is anise-flavoured liquor and is produced by the Sazerac Company from New Orleans, Louisiana. The liquor was created by J. Marion Legendre and Reginald Parker during World War 1 in New Orleans. At first the drink was produced under the official brand name of Legendre Absinthe and the company was later bought by the Sazerac Company, which changed the liquor’s name to Herbsaint. It does not matter which company makes it – the only thing that matters is that any cocktail that uses Herbsaint is a must to try.
