How to Mix a Santa Sling Cocktail

A Santa Sling cocktail is an exotic alcoholic drink which is similar to the traditional Singapore Sling. It is an excellent drink, which is ideal for thirst quenching purposes during hot summer days. Almost every bar serves this refreshing drink, but you can also prepare it at home. Mixing a Santa Sling at home is a fairly easy task and is economical as well. Several sour and sweet juices are mixed with gin, triple sec, and cherry brandy in a cocktail shaker, and served cold. Do not forget to garnish your drink with a pineapple slice and a glace cherry.

Utensils: Cocktail shaker, long glass, 25ml (1 fl oz) measure, 50ml (2 fl oz) measure, measuring jug, measuring spoons, bar spoon

Lime juice: 7 ½ ml / ¼ fl oz / 1.5 teaspoons
Pineapple juice: 75 ml / 2 ½ fl oz
Benedictine: 7 ½ ml / ¼ fl oz
Cherry brandy: 15 ml / ½ fl oz
Cointreau or triple sec: 7 ½ ml / ¼ fl oz
Gin: 25 ml / 7⁄8 fl oz
Grenadine: 7 ½ ml / ¼ fl oz
Pineapple slice: 1 (for garnishing)
Glace cherry: 1 (for garnishing)
Some Angostura bitters
Some ice cubes
Some crushed ice

    Pour 7 ½ ml of fresh lime juice into a mixing glass.

    Then, add 75 ml of pineapple juice and a dash of Angostura bitters to the glass.

    Pour in 7 ½ ml of Benedictine, 15 ml of cherry brandy, and 7 ½ ml of cointreau or triple sec (whichever one you are using).

    Now add 25 ml of gin to the mixing glass and fill it with ice cubes.

    Then, pour it all into a cocktail shaker, put the top half of the cocktail shaker on, and shake the mixture vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds.

    When you notice a slight frost on the outside of the cocktail shaker and it begins to feel very cold in your hand, your Santa Sling cocktail is mixed.

    Tap the outside of the cocktail shaker, to separate the two halves of the cocktail shaker, and strain the drink into a cocktail glass.

    Top up the cocktail with crushed ice. Drizzle the drink with grenadine so that it drips down the edges of the glass.

    Finally, add a straw, garnish the drink with a slice of pineapple and a glace cherry, and serve chilled.
