How to Make Bishop’s Bread

The creation of this recipe is halfway between a cake and a loaf of bread. The bishop’s bread is soft and luxuriant enough to be termed a cake. The smell of it baking is strong enough to arouse everyone from bed in the morning with hopes of a slice. And the incentive of getting bishop bread as a dessert is compelling enough for the children to finish all their vegetables. It is that appealing of a treat. It looks rich and it tastes richer. The bread can also be given as a gift to friends and family because it can be stored for long. With additions of walnuts, cherries, raisins, and chips, who can doubt its taste.

Utensils: Oven, beater, mixing bowl, 9 by inch loaf pan

Ingredients:
Egg: 1
White sugar: 1/2 cup
Vegetable oil: 1/4 cup
Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
Buttermilk: 1 cup
All-purpose flour: 2 cups
Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon
Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
Chopped walnuts: 1/2 cup
Candied cherries: 1/2 cup
Currants: 1/2 cup
Semisweet chocolate chips: 1/2 cup

    Preheat your oven ot 350 F degrees. This way, it will warm up to receive the bread while you prepare it. Take the loaf pan and grease it lightly. Pour some flour into it and shake the pan lightly to spread the flour around. This will help in taking out the bread easily.

    Take a mixing bowl and beat the eggs in it. Now add to it the sugar, oil, and vanilla. After you are done mixing these well, add the buttermilk.

    Take another large mixing bowl and  add to it the flour, soda, and salt according to the measurements in the ingredients. Stir these together well. Now add the walnuts, cherries, raisins, and chips. When you combine all these, pour this mixture to the liquid mixture prepared above. Prepare an even smoother batter for the bread.

    Pour the batter in the pan and place in the oven. Bake the bread for an hour. Check if baked by inserting a toothpick in the middle when the bread starts browning. If the toothpick comes out clean and easy. the cake is baked. Let it cool in the pan for at least ten minutes and then transfer to the cooling rack.
