Make Simple Syrup
In your sauce pan, heat the 1 cup of water along with the sugar. Stir the two together well and bring to a boil until the sugar clarifies and blends well.
While you wait for your simple syrup to cool, squeeze the juice from 4-6 lemons in order to get 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Add the lemon juice along with the simple syrup into the pitcher. Add the 3-4 additional cups of cold water to dilute the sugar and lemon juice. Stir the entire mixture well until evenly mixed.
Place the pitcher in the fridge for 30-45 minutes. Once cold, release from the fridge for consumption.
Pour on Ice and Enjoy
Fill tall glasses with ice and pour the lemonade over said ice. This pitcher should fill 6 glasses easily.
