Onion, chopped - 1 large
Canola oil - 1 teaspoon
Black beans, rinsed and drained - 2 cans (15 ounces each)
Diced tomatoes with garlic and onion - 2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each)
Chicken or vegetable broth - 2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each)
Kidney beans, rinsed and drained - 1 can (16 ounces)
Cannellini or white kidney beans, rinsed and drained - 1 can (15 ounces)
Fresh or frozen corn - 1-1/2 cups
Garlic cloves, minced - 4
Ground cumin - 1-1/2 teaspoons
Chili powder - 1-1/2 teaspoons
Hot pepper sauce - ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon
Wash all the utensils before making southwestern bean soup.
Take a large bowl and put all the necessary vegetables. Put slight water in the pan and start boiling the vegetables.
First you should assure that onions and garlic are almost tendered during the boiling process.
Stir the boiling mixture well.
