How to Split a Page into Four Parts in Microsoft Word

Microsoft Office Word is great word processing software widely used all across the globe. The best part in Word is that it combines numerous formatting options which you can use to make the document you are creating look proper. If you want to divide you document into sections, Word allows you to split a blank document into more than one parts so that you can then edit each part individually.

In order to split a Word page into four parts, a few keystrokes and mouse clicks is all you will need. In fact, splitting a Word document into four parts is as easy as pie.

    Open a blank Microsoft Office Word document and click on the ‘Insert’ tab located at the top of the Word window.

    Point to ‘Table’ in the ‘Tables’ section and click ‘Insert Table’ from the list that appears. Word will now prompt you to enter the number of rows and columns that you would like the table to have. Since you are planning to divide the Word page into four parts, select two rows and two columns.

    Click the ‘OK’ button on the ‘Insert Table’ window to insert a table with two rows and two columns in the Word document.

    Now you need to resize the table according to your requirement. Place your cursor over the bottom right corner of the table you just inserted. Hover it around the bottom right corner until you see a cursor with two arrowheads. Right click, hold and drag in order to resize the table.

    After you have resized the table, you need to get rid of the borders around the table. Open the Border and Shading window by right clicking inside the table and choosing ‘Borders and Shading’ from the list of options. Under the ‘Borders’ tab, click ‘None’ in the ‘Setting:’ section which is located at the left of the Border and Shading window. When you click ‘OK’ the borders around the table will disappear.
