Notice the latest trends:
Before starting, you should do some research and find out what youngsters are reading these days. Then develop a theme and do extensive research about the topic. This will bring depth in your writing and ultimately success will be yours.
Come up with a title:
You should start with a title as this sets you in the mood to complete the outline. Be innovative but strictly relevant. Moreover, you should be open for suggestions and amendments. Write down the title on paper and start working without any delay.
Write down the setting:
Now, when you are clear about the idea, start writing down the setting. Decide the locale of your novel, the main issue, lead character, supporting characters and tracks etc. Even if there conflicts, do not stop thinking and keep taking notes. Ultimately, you will see that there is a complete sketch.
After arranging all the incidents in a sequence, keep your focus on the characters and write down their appearance, personality, psyche, mannerism etc. Remember, it is very important as your characters take the story forward and their actions give you the margin to introduce new turns in the story.
Construct a sub plot:
You should not rely on main track as your reader might get bored. Try to run a parallel track which is less significant than the main track. However, make sure that both tracks are relevant and they become one in the end.
Major turning points:
It is better to make a list of major turning points so that you do not miss anything while writing the outline. Make sure that every conflict is creating enough bang to keep the reader interested.
After arranging everything in a sequence, you should summarise your outline in just one paragraph.
