The Flaming Volcano cocktail is a specialized exotic island cocktail that is made by making use of orange juice, brandy, rum and almond syrup along with some other ingredients. The drink is served into a volcano bowl and can be found in many Asian restaurants and bars or island resorts. The drink is not served to a single person but it is collectively served to a group of friends who share it in a volcano bowl with long colourful straws in it. It was first invented in the 50s when some Hawaii restaurants started serving flaming volcano cocktail and after that, it earned huge popularity across the world.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Serving Size: 2 or more people
Utensils: a blender, a volcano bowl, long lighter or match sticks
- 2 ounces of lemon juice
- 4 ounces of fresh orange juice
- 1 ounce of light rum
- 1 ounce of brandy
- 1 ounce of 151 extra strength rum
- 2 ounces of almond syrup
- 2 scoops of crushed ice - if you crave a chilled glass of the cocktail
Take a blender and add ice, lemon juice, orange juice, light rum, brandy and almond flavoured syrup in it.
Blend all of the ingredients thoroughly until they are mixed well. Now pour all of the contents of the mixture into a large volcano bowl or mug.
Now very carefully pour the 151 rum into the centre part of the volcano mug and do not mix the rum with rest of the contents.
Take a log lighter or a long match stick and set the 151 rum on fire in the centre of the volcano bowl. Your Flaming Volcano Cocktail is ready to serve. Serve as as the fire is lit and flaming hot, along with the crater formed by the presence of melted ice.
