Orange Crush Cocktail Recipe

Vibrant and lively in taste and appearance, an Orange Crush cocktail is a perfect drink for the dog days of summer. Cool and refreshing, the cocktail contains orange flavoured vodka, Cointreau, fresh orange juice, Sprite or 7-Up, and an orange twist for garnish. Somewhat like an adult version of an orange slushy, this is a great poolside drink, and is bound to become your cocktail of choice for hot summer afternoons.

Prep time: 3 minutes
Yield: 1 person

orange flavoured vodka: 60 ml / 2 oz

Start by placing your Collins glass (or whichever glass you plan to serve the cocktail in) in your refrigerator, so it can have ample time to chill, and develop a frosted appearance by the time you are ready to pour your drink in and serve.

  • 2

Now, start preparing the cocktail. Take a cocktail shaker, load about half of it with crushed ice, and pour 60 ml of orange flavoured vodka, 30 ml of Cointreau, and 120 ml of fresh orange juice into your cocktail shaker.

  • 3

Cover the lid of the cocktail shaker securely, and give it a good couple of shakes, until all ingredients have mixed together thoroughly.

  • 4

Once the orange crush cocktail has been blended to perfection, hold a strainer over your chilled Collins glass, pour the drink into this, and drop in 2 to 3 ice cubes. Make sure you leave some headspace at the top of the glass.

Finally, top the drink off with 12 oz of Sprite or 7-Up, and garnish it with an orange twist. Your orange crush cocktail is now ready – serve chilled.
