Products to Remove Pet Stains on Carpets

Those with a pet know that no matter how intelligent and well behaved that pet is, accidents are bound to happen, and their beloved pet will have occasional mishaps that may result in stains on carpets. Keep in mind that the sooner you begin cleaning and treating pet stains on carpets, the easier they are to remove, and the less likely they are to become permanent.

Depending on the type of carpeting, how stains were initially treated, and whether or not the stains have set in will greatly affect the results you achieve when trying to remove them. Although it isn’t possible to completely remove every pet stain, these methods of stain removal are relatively inexpensive and easy. Have either of the following products on hand so you’ll be ready to treat pet stains as soon as possible after they occur.

Homemade Herbal Spot Remover

Homemade products often work better than store-bought products, and they are generally more environmentally friendly. It’s satisfying to know that a homemade product used to remove pet stains can help save money as well as the environment, so give the following herbal spot remover a try. This homemade soap especially for pet stains will not only remove the stains, but it will also remove unpleasant odors. It’s very easy to make, and it has worked to remove everything from vomit stains to urine stains in my home.

You’ll need 2 bars of castile soap, 2 ounces of isopropyl rubbing alcohol, 2 ounces of rosemary oil, a wooden spoon, a double boiler, a grater, and a 16-ounce container with a lid. You can find castile soap in the laundry aisle of many retail stores, specialty shops, or online.

Begin making this herbal spot remover by heating water in the lower pan of your double boiler. Add the grated castile soap to the upper pan, and stir occasionally while it’s melting. After the soap has melted, add the rubbing alcohol and rosemary oil. Stir the mixture until it’s well combined. Carefully pour it into a container, and allow it to cool and set. Store it with the lid in place until ready to use.

Spot Shot Stain Remover

Many specialty products sold in pet stores work wonderfully to remove all sorts of pet stains, but these products can be quite costly. Instead of buying expensive specialty products to remove pet stains in your home, consider trying Spot Shot. This fantastic stain removal product can be found in the cleaning products aisle of most retail stores, and it’s fairly inexpensive. Look for a shiny blue can with a bright orange lid. Once you try Spot Shot to remove pet stains in your home, you won’t consider using other store-bought stain removal products. It’s my favorite commercial stain remover, and it’s well worth using to remove pet stains on the carpets in your home.
