The Simply Manischewitz Cook-Off

This cooking contest is looking for the most delicious, original kosher recipes using Manischewitz products. The recipe has to be simple: It can’t use more than 8 ingredients, and can’t take more than an hour to prepare.

The winner of this cooking contest will receive a complete set of brand new GE kitchen appliances, and a $5,000 cash prize.

Lawry’s Tasty Traditions Recipe Contest

Deadline: September 30, 2006

This cooking contest is for the best recipe using Lawry’s Seasoned Salt. Along with the recipe, entrants must submit an essay, that’s 200 words or less, explaining how they use Lawry’s Seasoned Salt in traditional family recipes. The winner of this cooking contest will receive a $25,000 cash prize. The ten runners up will win $1,000.

Smucker’s Uncrustables Taste & Tell Contest

Deadline: Sept 30, 2006

This isn’t actually a cooking contest, but it is related to food. All you have to do is submit an audio or video recording that’s 25 seconds or less long. In the recording, explain why Smucker’sÃ?® UncrustablesÃ?® sandwiches make you want to say, “Wow!” If send in the best entry, you will win $25,000.

The 47th National Chicken Cooking Contest

Deadline: October 5, 2006

This cooking contest is looking for the best chicken recipe. A finalist will be chosen from each state, as well as the District of Columbia. In May of 2007, these finalists will compete in Birmingham, Alabama, where the winner will receive $100,000.

That’s a lot of money for some chicken.

The 5th Annual Jif Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest

Deadline: November 15, 2006

This is a cooking contest open to children ages 6 to 12. In March or 2007, five finalists will be flown to New York to compete, live, for the big prize. The child who comes up with the best, most creative peanut butter sandwich recipe will win a $25,000 scholarship fund. The four runners-up will receive a $2,500 scholarship fund.

So put on an apron, kick your creativity into gear, and start cooking. Your original recipe just might be the ticket to winning big bucks in any of these cooking contests.
