Sample of an Apology Email to Wife
I am really sorry for forgetting about our wedding anniversary honey. I know I disappointed you by forgetting about the most important day in our life. I feel miserable baby and I deserve it, but you did not deserve the pain I caused you by forgetting about our special day and that is what is killing me even more.
My love, you know how I have always made plans for our wedding anniversary in advance to make every anniversary memorable. However, the important date slipped my mind because of office stress. The boss has been on my case lately, rejecting my reports and making me work extra hours. I have not been able to relax for quite some time now, as I am always worrying about the next thing that will get me scolded, in fact publicly humiliated by my boss.
That being said, I admit that office stress is no reason to forget about the day I got married to the most beautiful woman in the world. I swear I will make it up to you when I return home.
With lots of love,

Dear [Recipient’s Name]
I have no words to express just how sorry I am for breaking your trust by taking my secretary out to dinner yesterday baby. I feel awful and finding it nearly impossible to stare at my own reflection in the mirror.
My secretary got a divorce from her husband because she caught him cheating with her best friend. She narrated the entire incident to me yesterday and I felt really bad for her. She then asked me if I was going to be free yesterday evening, to which I said yes since you had plans with your friends. She asked me to meet her at Café Latino for a cup of coffee. I saw no harm in it and agreed to meet her there. I just wanted to comfort her a little. Unfortunately, you got the wrong idea when you ran into me at Café Latino. I swear I was not on a date with her. I cannot even imagine doing something of that sort with someone. Why would I do something like that when I am married to the most amazing woman in this world?
You have got to believe me, my love. I know I disappointed you. I know I should have told you that I will be meeting my secretary outside of office yesterday evening. I don’t know why I hesitated. Please forgive me and let go of your anger. The thought of losing you forever is killing me. Please come back to me. I miss you. The kids miss you. The house is so empty without you. I am so empty with you. Please come back.
Yours and only yours,
