Rinse and drain the lettuce, tomatoes and avocados. Now, chop them to the desired size for a salad and shift into a large serving bowl or a salad bowl.
Take one small onion, peel it and cut into fine slices. Place these slices in the large bowl as well.
Add in the green or black olives, lightly salted and crushed tortilla chips, well drained red kidney beans and chick peas. Mix up the ingredients with a large for a flat wooden ladle to incorporate them thoroughly. Set the bowl of ingredients aside to marinate.
In another small mixing bowl, whisk the Italian salad dressing, soured cream and the taco seasoning. Continue blending until it forms a smooth dressing.
Gently drizzle the dressing on top of the salad and mix lightly until all ingredients of the salad are evenly coated.
Sprinkle the finely grated cheddar cheese on top of the salad and dish up right away.
